Floor drains are of extreme importance since they serve as a helping hand in keeping the bathroom clean by washing away unnecessary waste. Not only this, a good floor drain not only helps in just ensuring cleaning but also keeps away all the odors or unpleasant smells.

To guarantee top-notch quality and perfect water drainage, we, at Versa Bath Fittings – well known Floor Drain manufacturers along with all other bath fitting products, believe in not just employing premium stainless steel, but also ensuring optimum quality by making the product go through multiple quality checks.

Without further ado, let’s discuss the entire floor drain manufacturing process, aka the manufacturing of floor drain jali, in detail:

Step 1: Purchasing and Assembling the Raw Material

Buying the perfect and quality raw material is extremely crucial and is the bedrock of something promising. Therefore, all the base materials, that is, stainless steel coils – SS 202 and SS 304 – are bought from JSL (Jindal Steel Limited) for ensuring 100% guarantee of the raw material used in the manufacturing of the floor drains.

Step 2: Die Making

A die is made by using the VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machine as part of giving the proper shape, form, and finish to the stainless-steel sheets.

Step 3: Stainless Steel Machining

The machining process involves multiple steps, from cutting the stainless-steel coils to getting rid of the impurities.

  1. Coil to Sheet Cutting

SS 202 and SS 304 coils are first cut into different sizes manually, through which stainless-steel sheets are made. The steel sheets are of two types: matte and glossy.

  1. Top and Bottom Parts of the Floor Drain

In this step, the bottom part, as well as the top part, of the stainless steel are first drawn on the machine. After that, both parts are placed on the die and stretched.

  1. Shaping of the Floor Drain Parts

The sheet, top and bottom parts, is then punched on the die to get the desired shape and form of the floor drain.

  1. Grinding Process

After giving the desired shape to the sheet i.e. of the floor drain, the impurities or extra parts/material are removed via grinding as part of getting the perfect and smooth shape of the drain. During grinding, the piece is grated with the help of a high-speed machine for removing the waste material and achieving the desired shape.

Step 4: Quality Assurance & Packaging

Since we know that the stainless steel sheet is of two types, that is, matte and glossy, therefore, both of them, after taking the desired shape, go through different steps post the machining process. Let’s dive into the details.

Matte Floor Drains Process

  1. Checking for Defects: The steel goes through multiple quality checks as part of ensuring the manufacturing of floor drains leaves no stone unturned in guaranteeing a 100% quality and defect-free end product. Our team of quality analysts not only checks each and every part with the utmost precision but also rejects the defective piece when it fails to pass the quality test.
  2. Laser Marking: After checking the defect-free product, it goes through the laser marking process to provide permanent markings on the top layer of the floor drain without affecting its protective layer.
  3. Packing: Packing the floor drain is the last step in which we make sure that it is nicely packed in boxes and cartons. Not only this, we provide single packing floor drains as well to our customers.

Glossy Floor Drains Process

  1. Polishing and Special Plating: Glossy steel is first polished to bring out the functional and aesthetic qualities of the steel’s surface. After polishing, a special plating is done on the stainless steel to improve its corrosion resistance, wear resistance, and hardness.
  2. Quality Check: The steel goes through the quality checking process where it is made sure, by highly professional quality analysts, that the floor drains delivered to our customer are without any defects and of supreme quality.
  3. Laser Marking & Cleaning: Laser marking is done on the product which is then followed by the cleaning where the end product is cleaned to protect it from oxidation, corrosion, rusting, and staining.
  4. Packaging and Delivery of Floor Drain: The final product is then packed and delivered to our B2B and B2C customers across the globe.

The above blog clearly shows how at Versa a bath fitting product, floor drain jali, in this case, is manufactured via the latest machinery and equipment with a clear focus on delivering premium quality products to the customers. Moreover, customers needing just a single floor drain are also kept in mind since single pack floor drains are also available.
